AlipayHK, the Hong Kong version of Alipay, one of China’s biggest payment service providers, has been authorized to expand its businesses from the Greater Bay Area (Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao) to cover the whole country, Ant Financial Services Group, operator of Alipay and an affiliate of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding, announced Sunday on July 21. 

“We are the very first Hong Kong digital wallet to offer nationwide services in China; Hong Kong users are able to travel in the mainland of China just with a smartphone,” said the Alipay HK’s team.
